These Terms and Conditions govern your use of the SDGZero platform, including the SDGZero Directory and The Vault. By accessing or using any part of SDGZero, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the platform.

1. Definitions

SDGZero, we, us, our refers to the SDGZero platform and its operators.
User, you, your refers to any individual or organisation accessing or using SDGZero.
Directory refers to the SDGZero business listing platform.
The Vault refers to the members-only area providing resources, documents, courses, events, groups, and community features.
Subscription refers to any Free, Featured, Premium, Elite, or future membership tier.
Content refers to text, images, logos, documents, videos, data, or other materials uploaded or accessed on the platform.
SDGs refers to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.

2. Purpose of SDGZero

SDGZero exists to support small and medium-sized enterprises by increasing visibility, trust, and alignment with sustainability, social responsibility, and ethical business practices.

SDGZero is not a certification authority, regulator, or auditing body. Participation does not constitute legal, environmental, financial, or compliance advice.

3. Eligibility and Account Registration

3.1 You must be at least 18 years old to register.
3.2 Businesses must provide accurate, complete, and truthful information when creating an account or listing.
3.3 You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
3.4 You are responsible for all activity carried out under your account.

SDGZero reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that provide misleading, false, or harmful information.

4. Directory Listings

4.1 Directory listings are created by users and are the responsibility of the business owner or authorised representative.
4.2 You confirm that all information provided is accurate, lawful, and does not infringe third-party rights.
4.3 SDGZero may review, edit, suspend, or remove listings that:

Are misleading or false
Contain offensive or unlawful content
Promote harmful or unethical practices
Misrepresent SDG alignment

4.4 SDG alignment shown on listings is self-declared unless otherwise stated. SDGZero does not independently verify claims unless explicitly agreed.

5. Subscription Plans and Payments

5.1 SDGZero offers multiple subscription tiers with varying features and access levels.
5.2 Subscription fees, where applicable, are billed in advance and are non-refundable unless required by law.
5.3 Upgrading or downgrading a plan may result in immediate changes to features and access.
5.4 Failure to pay subscription fees may result in suspension or termination of services.

SDGZero reserves the right to amend pricing, features, or plans with reasonable notice.

6. The Vault Access and Use

6.1 The Vault is available only to registered users with an active subscription that includes Vault access.
6.2 Vault content may include:

Educational documents and templates
Courses and training materials
Events and live sessions
Community groups and discussions

6.3 Vault content is provided for informational and educational purposes only.
6.4 Content may not be copied, redistributed, resold, or shared outside the platform without written permission.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to:

Upload unlawful, defamatory, abusive, or misleading content
Harass, threaten, or harm other users
Misuse the platform for spam or unauthorised marketing
Attempt to gain unauthorised access to systems or data
Misrepresent SDG participation or impact

Violation of this policy may result in immediate suspension or termination without notice.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1 All SDGZero branding, platform design, logos, systems, and original content are owned by SDGZero or its licensors.
8.2 Users retain ownership of their own content but grant SDGZero a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display and promote it within the platform.
8.3 You must not use SDGZero intellectual property without prior written consent.

9. Reviews, Ratings, and Community Contributions

9.1 Reviews and community contributions must be honest, respectful, and relevant.
9.2 SDGZero reserves the right to moderate, remove, or flag content that breaches these Terms.
9.3 SDGZero does not guarantee the accuracy of reviews or user-generated content.

10. Suspension and Termination

SDGZero may suspend or terminate access if:

These Terms are breached
Payment obligations are not met
Content or behaviour harms the platform or community
Legal or regulatory concerns arise

Termination does not remove obligations incurred prior to termination.

11. Disclaimers

11.1 SDGZero provides the platform “as is” and “as available”.
11.2 We do not guarantee:

Business growth, leads, or revenue
Compliance with laws or regulations
Achievement of specific sustainability outcomes

Users remain fully responsible for their own business decisions and claims.

12. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

SDGZero shall not be liable for indirect or consequential losses
SDGZero is not liable for loss of profits, reputation, or data
Liability is limited to the amount paid for the relevant subscription in the preceding 12 months

Nothing in these Terms excludes liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence.

13. Data Protection and Privacy

13.1 SDGZero processes personal data in accordance with UK GDPR and applicable data protection laws.
13.2 Use of the platform is also governed by the SDGZero Privacy Policy.

14. Changes to These Terms

SDGZero may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

15. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
